About us …

The Friends of Oxley Creek Common (FOOCC) are working to conserve and protect this highly biodiverse part of Brisbane

Oxley Creek Common is a large natural wetland environment and an important area of open space within urban Brisbane. FOOCC seeks to protect it from unsustainable use and development, and sustain its natural values through raising public awareness and appreciation for the Common and working with government and other conservation organisations.

We do this through news, membership, volunteering and regular bird walks led by highly experience bird watchers, with a broad knowledge of the Oxley Creek Common’s history and natural heritage. See our more below about how you can join in.

Please note: The Friends of Oxley Creek Common do not control bookings for the Red Shed at the common – see the menu above for contact details for the Red Shed

Volunteering ...

There are a number of volunteering opportunities where we weed and plant and care for the common in a number of different ways. These are organised through the Oxley Creek Catchment Association (OCCA) and FOOCC.  Equipment is provided, we just need your labour. So if you value the Common and would like to contribute to maintaining the natural habitat, please join us in some volunteering. Anyone and everyone is welcome.
